FAQ

Tickets

When will tickets go on sale?
Wednesday, April 17.
Tickets cost $50 for Sat-Sun; $85 for all three days (includes PreCamp).

Ticket sales will close on May 21.

Can I get a refund?
Sorry, we don’t allow refunds but you may still transfer your ticket to someone else.

Can I transfer/sell my ticket to someone else?
Yes. Use the edit link provided to you in the confirmation email for your ticket to change the name and registration details. Then settle up with the person regarding payment.

Do I need to bring a confirmation of my ticket to registration?
Registration information is not required. We’ll locate your entrance badge based on your name.

Will you sell tickets at the door?
No, we don’t sell tickets onsite for PreCamp or WordCamp.

What does the ticket price include?
The regular WordCamp 2-day ticket includes entrance to all sessions on Saturday and Sunday, lunch, parking, entrance to the After Party, and a very cool T-shirt!

Can I just buy a Friday PreCamp ticket (not WordCamp)?
Sorry, we only sell PreCamp + WordCamp combo tickets for $85. We do this because most PreCamp attendees will get more out of the workshop by attending sessions on the other days. Even if you can’t attend Saturday and Sunday, the hands-on workshop experience with WordPress experts is still a total steal at $85!

Other Questions

What is WordCamp?
Head on over to our Why WordCamp? page for details.

When is WordCamp?
PreCamp is June 7
WordCamp is June 8-9

What is PreCamp: Beginner’s Day?
PreCamp is a special session (and a different ticket option) offered on Friday, June 7. It’s meant for those new to WordPress. By the end of the day you’ll have set up a working site on WordPress and learned key terminology. You’ll be ready for the Saturday and Sunday WordCamp sessions.

Where do I park?
Please watch your email after you register. Parking instructions will be sent out the week before WordCamp.

What should I bring?
Bring your fully-charged laptop or tablet, or a notepad to take notes. PreCamp attendees must bring a laptop as you will be setting up a WordPress site. You’ll need admin access to your laptop so you can sign on to UNCA’s free Wi-Fi network. And, don’t forget your business cards to share with all the people you’ll be meeting!

What should I wear?
WordCamps are casual conferences so wear whatever you are comfortable in. You might want to bring a light jacket if you get cold inside buildings.

What is the Happiness Bar?
WordCamps are known for our commitment to community and the Happiness Bar is where you can go to get free WordPress advice and support. Bring your laptop and hook up with the Happiness Bar volunteers to brainstorm any issue you might be having, or simply go chat with knowledgeable WordPressers and get to know some new pals!

Is there going to be food for special dietary needs?
Yes, there will be a variety of options for those with dietary restrictions.

I’m traveling from out of town. Where should I stay?
Most attendees last year found accommodations on their own, and so we opted not to reserve hotel blocks this year. Please view the Location & Lodging page for a couple suggestions. By and large, rates are lower if you stay a few miles outside of downtown.

Are the sessions recorded? Are the slides available?
Yes! All sessions are recorded, and after a couple months will be added to WordPress.tv by volunteers. We send out an email and post on social media when we start to see our videos being added.
We ask that all speakers submit their slides to us so that we can post them all in one place for our attendees.
