Silver Sponsor Highlight: Make Your Dreams Come True with DreamHost

According to DreamHost

“When you put your dreams online—your words, your photos, your creations—you shouldn’t have to worry about your service provider mining that data for marketing purposes. Those are your dreams — not ours! DreamHost’s open platform gives you the power to share your data and the freedom to control how it’s used.”

This is why we know DreamHost can be an excellent hosting option for any WordPress user. The WordCamp Asheville team had the pleasure of interviewing Brett Dunst, DreamHost’s VP of Corporate Communications, and here is what he had to say about the company and the WordPress platform.

1. What is your name and what do you do for your company?

Heya!  I’m Brett Dunst and I’m DreamHost’s VP of Corporate Communications.  That’s a fancy way of saying I spend my days watching over our brand’s voice and tone, fielding inquiries from press and analysts, and just generally making certain that the DreamHost story gets told in way that’s both true and beautiful.  I write a lot of things!

2. What is the mission of your company?

A lot of companies have catchy mission and vision statements (we do too), but we went a bit further!  We’ve got something that we call a “noble cause” that ties them both together. Our Noble Cause is, simply, “We help people own their digital presence.”

We believe that people should have the freedom to choose how their digital content is shared.  In fact, that’s our vision statement!

Our mission is to foster success by providing the open web platform of choice, and for an overwhelming majority of our users, that platform is WordPress!

It’s not required to have the theme as part of your presentation, but we’d love to challenge you to include it.

We look to have a diverse lineup of speakers and sessions that focuses on all aspects of the WordPress Community. We’ll be spreading speaker talks across beginner, intermediate, and advanced topics and are most interested in talks that are new and unique with real-world examples.

Here are a few ideas for topics we’d love to see (but get creative, we’re open to anything WordPress):
