Woohoo! The big day is here. Ticket sales are now live.

Tickets for WordCamp  are $40 and includes a t-shirt and lunch both days (Saturday, July 25 and Sunday, July 26). Pretty sweet deal, huh?

Friday’s PreCamp is a hands-on workshop aimed at helping beginners get a new WordPress site up and running, and is packaged along with WordCamp for $60.

PreCamp is a hands-on Beginner’s Day for those new to WordPress. Unlike WordCamp (Sat & Sun), which focuses on presentations by various speakers, PreCamp (Fri) is a do-it-yourself day.

Are you new to WordPress (or know someone who is) and want some hands-on support in setting up your website? PreCamp is designed to take you from a blank slate to a fully functioning website before you walk out the door. We provide almost everything* you need to get started – including three months of hosting for your site thanks to the generous sponsorship of SiteGround.

If you’re a beginner who is wondering if this is the right place for you – the answer is YES!

WordCamp Asheville speaker proposals
Our speaker submission form is officially closed and the WordCamp committee is combing through each and every proposal. We’re narrowing down the list (with so many excellent presenters and topics, this is no easy task!).

We’ll be reaching out to speakers who make the list by early next week.

After we confirm all speakers, we’ll start announcing the line up. So, stay tuned to this site and to our social channels for updates and for when tickets go on sale (which will be very, very soon)!

Volunteers are the backbone of any great WordCamp. We are looking for people who are enthusiastic, organized, energetic, and who love WordPress. You don’t have to be a WordPress expert, just great with people and a smile.

As a volunteer, you’ll be helping to make our event run as smoothly as possible, ensuring a fun time is had by all. Plus, it’s a great way to get more involved in the WordPress community, make connections and meet some really cool people as geeky as you are.

Call for Speakers Now Open!

WordCamp Asheville is now accepting applications for speakers for this summer’s conference! It’s a great opportunity to help the local Asheville WordPress community by sharing your knowledge and love of WordPress.

This year’s theme is CONNECTION! It’s not required to have the theme as part of your presentation, but we’d love to challenge you to include it.

Details

We’re looking for speakers willing to engage their audience about a topic related to WordPress. It’s up to you to decide what to share, but we’re looking for talks that will fall within our four tracks:

Content/All Users
Developers
Front End/Designer
Business

  • Talks will be allotted 45 minutes, plus time for Q&A. You can adjust the talk time if you incorporate Q&A during the presentation.
  • Speakers will be offered free admission to WordCamp Asheville 2015 and get to attend a speaker dinner, but since we’re a nonprofit we can not reimburse travel, lodging, or other expenses.
  • As a disclaimer, all sessions will be video taped. You will need to sign and return the A/V form prior to speaking.
  • We encourage multiple submissions from the same speaker. If you have more than one idea, go ahead and submit multiple topics and we’ll get back to you with which one we think will fit best with the final schedule. You’ll need to submit a form for each presentation idea. (If you submit multiple topics, but have a preferred one, just make a note for us when you submit the form.)
  • You will be contacted as soon as the committee has made a decision about the presentations.

We’re thrilled to announce that WordCamp Asheville will be held Saturday, July 25 – Sunday, July 26. This year, WordCamp will take place at UNC Asheville’s Highsmith Student Union.

Like last year, we will also have a separately ticketed PreCamp Beginner’s Day on Friday, July 24. PreCamp is a hands-on workshop for those new to WordPress.
