Volunteers make WordCamp happen!
Spring is in full swing, and the WordCamp clock is ticking away! We’ve assembled a crack team of volunteers, and we’re ready to take this show on the road. Volunteers enjoy half-price registration for their hard work as well as the pleasure of being a part of the well-oiled machine that is us organizers getting our organization on.
WordCamp is a not-for-profit event, planned and coordinated entirely by volunteers with the support of the WordPress Foundation. We couldn’t do this without the help of our volunteers, so thank you for you commitment!
Tickets are on sale for WordCamp Asheville!
Woohoo! The big day is here. Ticket sales are now live. In case you’ve never been to a WordCamp before, get ready to geek out. We are planning sessions for beginners, users, designers and developers, with speakers from western North Carolina and beyond, including one or two from the mothership itself!
Tickets are $40 and includes a t-shirt and lunch both days (Saturday, May 31 and Sunday, June 1). Pretty sweet deal, huh?
Friday’s PreCamp is a separately ticketed event ($45) and is aimed at helping beginners get a live WordPress site up and running.
Check out our Tracks and Sessions to see what you’ll be learning at WordCamp! Other area WordCamps have sold out quickly, so why take a chance at being left out? Get your ticket today and spread the word.
What do you want to learn at WordCamp?
Are you a beginner who wants to learn the basics of editing and maintaining your WordPress site? Maybe you’re a developer looking to focus your skills and create a new plugin. Whatever your skill level, we hope to create a WordCamp that helps you grow. Sound off in the comments, send us a tweet, or take this quick survey and let us know your thoughts.
Interested in giving a talk? Speaker submissions are trickling in and we have some exciting topics in store, but we still need speakers – send us your topic submission today!
WordCamp Asheville Dates & Location are set!
Put Saturday May 31 & Sunday June 1 on your calendar! And sign up for Email updates (subscribe on right-hand sidebar) so you can be first in line for tickets to the very first WordCamp in Asheville.
We’ll also have a beginners PreCamp on Friday May 30th. This will be a separate, ticketed event that offers a hands-on experience to create your own website with the help and guidance of experienced volunteers. If you’re new to WordPress and want to get your first website up and running, the PreCamp is a great place to fast-track your website. If you are also attending the Saturday & Sunday WordCamp, you’ll learn even more about how to tweak your website in our beginner and designer tracks.
Stay tuned in the coming weeks as we announce our sponsors and let you know more about what you can expect at WordCamp Asheville. In the meantime, check out the opportunities for becoming a sponsor, a session presenter and/or a much-needed volunteer to help keep the event running smoothly.
